Wine down on Sip Sip
I first heard the guys of Sip Sip in more classical-pop band Mother Falcon on the UT campus. However Mother Falcon wasn’t something you could really dance to at a party. That’s never been a detractor for me, but if you’re at one of their infamous 500-person Skanky Possum parties sometimes you just want to get down.
Then along came Sip Sip.
Mixing jazz and funk to electronic beats and rap, its become a common sight for their live performances to draw a frenzied mosh with everyone, fans and first-timers, screaming, “I sip. You sip. We sip Sip Sip.”
While their recorded versions of their songs aren’t too shabby, nothing compares to their live sets which constantly keep their music fresh. The solid percussive beats, the wash of catchy choruses and the blaring brass all combine to at the very least make you bounce your head and at the most send you into a dance-phoria.
